- Consent: when you create an account and submit fishing reports.
- Contract performance: to provide you with the fishing.ie platform and its features.
- Legitimate interest: for service improvement and security.
5. How We Use Your Data
- Providing the fishing.ie platform, including venue profiles, fishing reports, and personalised features.
- Displaying fishing reports you submit — publicly or privately, according to your choice.
- Showing your followed venues and personal fishing log.
- Maintaining the security and integrity of the platform.
6. Third-Party Data Processors
We use the following third-party services to operate fishing.ie. Each acts as a data processor under GDPR Article 28:
- Supabase (United States) — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel (United States) — website hosting.
- Google (United States) — OAuth sign-in authentication.
- Anthropic (United States) — AI-powered features via the Claude API.
- Met Eireann (Ireland) — weather data. No personal data is shared with this service.
7. International Data Transfers
Some of our processors are based in the United States, outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission under GDPR Chapter V, or by other appropriate safeguards.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Fishing reports are retained while published. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting fishingie@gmail.com.

fishing.ie is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16, in accordance with GDPR Article 8 and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
