fishing.ie is a fishing intelligence platform providing venue information, angler-submitted reports, and related features for waters across the island of Ireland. The platform is operated by an individual based in Ireland.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account on fishing.ie, in line with the age of digital consent under Irish law (Data Protection Act 2018, Section 31). By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may sign up using email or Google sign-in. If you suspect unauthorised use of your account, contact us immediately at fishingie@gmail.com.
5. User Content
When you submit content to fishing.ie — including fishing reports, photographs, narrative text, and catch details — the following applies:
- You retain ownership of all content you create and submit.
- By submitting content, you grant fishing.ie a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use your content on the platform.
- Reports marked as public will be visible to all visitors. Reports marked as private are visible only to you.
- You must not submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful.
- You must have the right to share any content you submit, including photographs.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Submit spam, fraudulent reports, or misleading information.
- Harass, abuse, or intimidate other users.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access fishing.ie without permission.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or its systems.
7. AI Features
fishing.ie may use artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic Claude) to provide insights and features. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should verify any AI-generated information independently before relying on it.
8. Weather Data
Weather information displayed on fishing.ie is sourced from Met Eireann and is provided for informational purposes only. fishing.ie is not responsible for the accuracy of weather data. Always check conditions independently before heading out on the water.
9. Disclaimers
- Fishing reports are submitted by users and are not verified by fishing.ie.
- Venue information is compiled for guidance only and may not reflect current conditions.
- You are responsible for checking local regulations, obtaining any required licences, and assessing safety conditions before fishing.
- fishing.ie does not guarantee catches, conditions, or venue access.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law, fishing.ie shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform. This includes losses arising from reliance on information provided on fishing.ie, whether by users, AI features, or third-party data sources.
11. Intellectual Property
The fishing.ie brand, logo, design, and platform code are the property of fishing.ie and are protected by intellectual property law. Venue descriptions and editorial content are original works. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from fishing.ie content without permission.
12. Termination
fishing.ie may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting fishingie@gmail.com.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The courts of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of fishing.ie.
14. Changes to These Terms
