Angling Adventures West Cork is a guided saltwater and coarse fishing service run by David Norman, operating from Clonakilty in West Cork. David began fishing at the age of seven on the rivers and estuaries of South East England, and has spent the past two decades exploring the coastline of West Cork, developing a deep knowledge of its bass, mullet, pollock and wrasse fishing. Bass fishing is the heart of the operation but mainly for Lure Anglers with good fitness levels from the kayaks.
Mullet fishing by fly rod is available from as early as March, targeting thick-lipped mullet that David describes as the Irish bonefish due to their wariness and epic fighting qualities. A Mullet Fly Workshop is highly recommended in order to set you up for success with the fly rod, pretty much anywhere with an estuary on the island of Ireland.
Pollock and Wrasse are targeted from the kayaks throughout the April to December by lure and by fly IF we can get flat calm and seas light wind conditions, as commonly experienced in high barometric pressure cycles.
David also offers junior coarse fishing sessions at a local lake for young anglers taking their first steps in the sport.
With some exceptions most saltwater trips are run on a one-to-one basis for safety and quality of experience for the angler. Contact is best made by email as David is frequently on the water...
