Claim this profile →Fly Fish Ireland Pro Guiding is run by Davey Kidd, an APGAI Ireland certified fly fishing guide who has been fishing Ireland's rivers and loughs since childhood. Based across multiple venues, Davey offers guided fly fishing excursions for individuals and groups, targeting wild brown trout, sea trout and salmon across some of Ireland's finest lough fisheries.
Davey is a member of the Patagonia Europe Pro Team and a Pro Team Member for Turrall Flyfishing and Cortland Fly Lines. He is a qualified fly dressing instructor who spends considerable time developing and refining patterns, and is always happy to share his proven flies with clients on the water.
His guiding programme tracks the natural rhythm of the Irish season: duckfly and chironomid hatches on Corrib and Sheelin from March; the famous Irish mayfly on Erne, Arrow and Sheelin in April and May; caenis and sedge fishing on Corrib, Mask and Ennell through June and July; and traditional wet fly and Daphnia fishing through the autumn. A second mayfly hatch on Lough Erne in June–July provides an extended opportunity for dry fly enthusiasts. Davey has also guided internationally in New Zealand, British Columbia, South Africa and the Caribbean. Catch and release is strongly advocated.
