He qualified to represent Ulster in the 2009 and 2014 championships and regularly catches fish to 8lb on wet and dry fly. Lough Sheelin Guiding Services was established in 2011 to meet demand from visiting anglers seeking professional guidance on the lough.
Gary has an intimate knowledge of every corner and drift on Sheelin — the hatches, the wind-dependent holding areas, and the seasonal patterns that separate productive days from blank ones. Sessions run daytime (10am–5pm), evening until dark, or early morning on request. Boat, tackle, and flies are all provided. Island lunches can be arranged.
While Sheelin is the home water, guided fishing can also be arranged on Lough Melvin, Lough Lene, Lough Owel, and Lough Ennell. Airport transfers and local accommodation can be organised on request.
