Lough Currane is widely regarded as the best sea trout fishery in Ireland, and Neil's family heritage on the lake — four generations of ghillies — gives him exceptional knowledge of its drifts, holding areas and seasonal patterns. The season opens 17th January with spring salmon the primary quarry until mid-season. Sea trout begin entering the lake in May, with the larger fish typically arriving first, and sea trout fishing continues strongly through to October.
For those who prefer to fish independently, boats and engines are available for daily hire. All fishing equipment is supplied on guided days, though clients are welcome to bring their own. River fishing on Glencar and the Laune can also be arranged on request.
